“Labour in a Single Shot” and Farocki
Join Antje Ehmann for a talk about the making of Labour in a Single Shot, a project by Antje Ehmann and Harun Farocki (2011-2014), from 2017 on by Ehmann and Eva Stotz.

Labour in a Single Shot deals with labour, paid and unpaid, material and immaterial, rich in tradition and altogether new, within a particular cultural context. Through a series of workshops in 17 cities around the world, the project sought to produce videos of 1 to 2 minutes in length, framed only in a single shot. The result of this long-term project is a growing encyclopedia of videos about labour with more than 450 films.
Ehmann will introduce and discuss the project by also showing films that have been produced – amongst others – in Bangalore, Hangzhou, Cairo, Rio de Janeiro, Boston, Lisbon, Berlin and Moscow.

ANTJE EHMANN (b. 1968, Germany) is a curator, author and artist, who lives and works in Berlin. She was an active collaborator with Farocki for many years. Her most recent curated exhibitions include: Harun Farocki. Another Kind of Empathy (with Carles Guerra), Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Barcelona (2016), Harun Farocki. What is at Stake (with Carles Guerra), IVAM, Valencia, Spain (2016), Labour in a Single Shot at the 56th International Art Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia (2015), Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin (2015), MUAC, Mexico City (2014), and Tel Aviv Museum of Art (2013). As well as: Harun Farocki. 4 films from 1967–1997. An Homage in àngels barcelona (2014), Between Eye and Hand in the Hotel Pythagoras, Samos, Greece (2012), Serious Games.
